Airtel reduces rental on Blackberry to Rs 249/month

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Bharti Airtel today slashed the fixed monthly rental for BlackBerry to Rs 249 per month from Rs 1,099 per month.

As per the new plan, Airtel BlackBerry users will be charged Rs 0.15 per Kb of usage, apart from the fixed monthly rental.

The company has also brought down the price of BlackBerry 7100 g handset to Rs 10,999.

As BlackBerry utilises a high level of data compression the average monthly bill is expected to significantly reduce by 40 per cent to 45 per cent.

Bharti Airtel Senior Vice President Sunil Tandon said, ''Since the time we introduced Email-on-the-Go to the Indian market it has been our constant endeavour to bring greater value to the Airtel BlackBerry user.'' However, Airtel BlackBerry users who have a greater data requirement have the option of continuing with the old plan wherein they will be charged a fixed monthly rental of Rs 1,099 per month for unlimited usage.

Sify inks pact with Japan's NEC to promote thin client computing

Haryana to allow open sale of Khair trees

Chandigarh, Mar 1 (UNI) Fulfilling the long pending demand of Khair trees growers, the Haryana government has decided to permit them to sell their trees in the open market. Minister of State for Forests Kiran Choudhry today said the Khair trees growers would no longer be required to sell their produce through the Haryana Forest Department to agencies recognised by the government.
