Aftek inks JV with Europe's ESG

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Technology enabled products and IT services provider Aftek Ltd today said it will form a joint venture with European software and systems company ESG Electroniksystem-und Logistik GmbH to exploit opportunities in Europe and India.

The JV will help offshore work to India for ESG's clients in the automotive sector and in spreading its presence across Europe using ESG's reach, market penetration and relationships.

It will also look at marketing ESG's expertise in the defence, aerospace, public sector and logistics market segments to clients in India.

Details of the joint venture including ownership pattern and equity structure are being worked out, a statement said.

''We already have a strong presence in Europe through our German-based subsidiary Arexera Information Technologies. The strengthening of the relationship with ESG will help us deliver quality software services to its list of marquee clients,'' Aftek's Chairman and Managing Director Ranjit Dhuru said.

BMW, Bajaj Allianz in motor insurance pact

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Auto major BMW India and Bajaj Allianz General Insurance today entered into an cooperation agreement for offering motor insurance to customers across the country. BMW customers will now avail a range of insurance products from BMW Financial Services offered by Bajaj Allianz. ''The products and services offered will be a part of BMW Financial Services,'' BMW India President Peter Kronschnabl said. The financial services will be offered to customers through the BMW dealership network.....

Govt allows mobile services within 500m of LoC

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) The government today said it has relaxed the restrictions on mobile services within 10 km of international border up to 500 meters taking security norms into concern. Department of Telecom (DoT) had barred the cellular operators to offer services up to 10 km till now around the international borders of the country. ''There will be a 'No Service Zone' of 500 meters width along the international border within Indian territory for wireless/mobile services,'' DoT said.....

Hero Honda, TVS bike sales jump in Feb; Bajaj drops 2pc

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) India's largest motorcycle maker Hero Honda today posted a 12 per cent increase in its February sales at 2,80,515 units, while rival Bajaj sold 1,71,780 bikes, less two per cent from the corresponding period last year. Bajaj sold 1,75,256 motorcycles in February 2006 while Hero Honda fared better with sales of 2,50,695 units during the same month a year ago. ''With anticipated good sales in March, Bajaj Auto expects to close this fiscal with record.....
