8,000 voters' names missing from voting list: Mohanbhai

Rajkot, Mar 1 (UNI) Former Deputy Mayor of Rajkot Municipal Corporation Mohanbhai Sojitra has alleged that as many as 8,000 to 10,000 voters' names are missing from the voters list and has written a letter to the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi seeking immediate rectification of the same.

In the letter to Gandhi, Sojitra alleged apart from the missing names from the electoral list of Rajkot district, published recently by District Electoral Authority, there were other discrepancies like misspelt names, change of voters' photo, change of gender on the voting card.

He said in the letter that the name of Vice Chancellor of Saurashtra University Dr Kamlesh Joshipura was also missing.

When contacted, Mr Joshipura said ''I and my wife have applied for the same.'' He has sought a thorough enquiry into the matter.
