19 nabbed as sex rackets busted in MP

Bhopal, Mar 1 (UNI) Nineteen people have been arrested over the past five days during busting of sex rackets at different places in Madhya Pradesh.

Five young women were among nine persons apprehended yesterday on the charge of flesh trade during a raid on a flat in Indore's Krishna Bagh Colony.

After being alerted, the police sent a 'customer' who finalised a deal and then signalled the personnel who swooped on the flat.

Shobha Bai, who ran the racket, her son Ganesh, his friend Rahul Singh and another person were arrested along with the young women, one of whom hailed from here and another from Khandwa.

On February 26, Motilal Agrawal (32) and his wife Mamta (32) were apprehended during a raid at Chhatarpur district headquarters' Narsinghgarhpura locality along with three young women and two men -- Pankaj Gupta and Jitendra Sikandar -- indulging in sexual acts at the couple's flat.

A constable was sent disguised as a customer and 'obtained' a woman for Rs 300. The arrested women were aged 18, 21 and 23. They hailed from Khajuraho and Chhatarpur.

An Ayurvedic physician and a woman were among three persons apprehended on February 25 on the charge of flesh trade at a 'Yoga centre' in the ancient temple town Ujjain. City Superintendent of Police Anjana Tiwari said that a raid took place that evening at Freegunj area. The physician was identified as Dr Natwarlal alias Bhurelal who also managed a hospital.

Court passes protection order under Domestic Violence Act

Congress hails budget 'pro poor', BJP terms it inflationary

Jaipur, Feb 28 (UNI) Rajasthan Congress today hailed the Union budget presented by Finance Minister P Chidambaram and said it was an attempt to bridge the divide between 'Bharat' and 'India', while the ruling BJP criticised the budget as a big letdown and inflationary. JBT Teacher arrested for molesting minor girl student

Sirsa, Mar 1 (UNI) A teacher of a rural Government Primary School in this district was arrested for allegedly trying to molest a girl student of class fourth. SSP Vikas Arora told UNI today that the police nabbed the teacher Harbans Singh, who has been booked under section 354 IPC, immediately after the woman Sarpanch of the village Kripal Patti brought the matter to its notice.
