TRS forces adjournment of House on Krishna waters to city

Hyderabad, Feb 28 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh assembly was adjourned for 15 minutes without taking up question hour as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) members sought a debate on their adjournment motion on completion of the third phase of Krishna waters to the twin cities and also diversion of Godavari waters.

Soon after the House met for the day, Speaker K R Suresh Reddy said the adjournment motions given notice of by the TRS, TDP and the BJP on Krishna waters to Hyderabad were disallowed.

He also announced that the adjournment motions given notice of by CPI(M) on pending issues of teachers, CPI on anganwadi workers problems, Janata Party on completion of Karimnagar-Nizamabad Railway line and BSP on restoration of 25 per cent agency allowance for working in Agency areas were disallowed.

The TDP and TRS members came to the House with placards.

Speaker Suresh Reddy tried to convince the TRS members, who trooped to the well of the House, demanding adjournment of the listed business and debate on their motion that the issue could be discussed during the debate on the Budget.

Informing the TRS members that today was the sixth and last day for the debate on the budget and reply by the Finance Minister K Rosiah, the Speaker said they could elicit information during their clarification also.

He said the opposition members were everyday losing the question hour in which important issues were to be discussed.

When the Speaker's appeal fell on deaf ears of the TRS members, who continued to raise slogans displaying placards, he adjourned the House for 15 minutes.

Chandrababu Naidu terms Central Budget as ''anti-poor''

Oppn Parties walk out on MSP to farm products

Health insurance for unorganised sector inadequate: Apollo

Hyderabad, Feb 28 (UNI) The Apollo Group of Hospitals today said the health insurance scheme for the unorganised sector like weavers and tax exemption for health insurance premium up to Rs 15,000 proposed in the Union Budget were inadequate and a significant distance away from the ultimate goal of mandatory health insurance. Apollo Hospitals CEO K Hari Prasad, in a press release here, however, lauded reduction in customs duty from 12.5 per cent to 7.5 per cent and removal of service.....
