Tension in MP villages

Khargone(MP), Feb 28 (UNI) Prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC have been imposed in Balsamund and adjoining 15 villages in Kasravad tahsil of this district since last evening due to mounting communal tension, police said today.

At least 50 people had been detained from Balsamund, 45 km from here, following arson and violence, which sparked off after a dispute among three people over handing over documents relating to sale of a two-wheeler. Two houses and nine shops were set ablaze with petrol bombs.

At least one person was injured in the clash. Police lobbed tear gas shells and fired in tbe air to disperse the mob.

Police personnel had been deployed in Balsamund, having 7,000 population, and adjoining villages. Senior officials were camping at Balsamund, police said.

House to house search for arms and explosives will be carried out, police added.

Budget not friendly to Aviation Industry: Saighal

Mumbai, Feb 28 (UNI) The budget for 2007-08 shows rather subdued pertinence to the Aviation Industry, Lt Gen (Retd) S J S Saighal, Chairman of Global Vectra Helicorp ltd, today said. Fire in WCL coalmine

Nagpur, Feb 28 (UNI) A fire broke out in a reopened mine of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) today in Chandrapur district of Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. A WCL spokesman told UNI the fire broke out because of 'spontaneous heating' of the coal, which was a common occurrence in mines. The flames had been extinguished in two 'galleries,' but were still raging in four others, and efforts were being made to put them out, the spokesman said. There had been no loss.....
