Neeti Meetarla forum organised padayatra

Vijayawada, Feb 27 (UNI) The 'Neeti Meetarla Vyathireka Aikya Porata Committee', a forum spearheading the agitation against installation of water meters for domestic tap connections in the city, has organised a padayatra here today.

Leaders of the political parties TDP, CPI, CPI(M) and women and freedom fighters who participated in the padayatra said there was a strong resentment among the people against the installation of water meters.

They said the padayatra was organised to intensify their stir and drum up public support. The agitation would continue until the government would give a categorical assurance that meters would not be fixed.

Door-to-door campaign was taken out by the forum on Sunday last, on the issue.
