NCDEX records trade worth Rs 3,019 cr

Mumbai, Feb 27 (UNI) As many as 584 members (2,753 users) of the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) today participated in trading upto 1700 hrs and volumes traded were Rs 3,019 crore (one-way).

There were 94,850 trades put through by them. Active trades were in guarseed, chana, refined soy oil, pepper and chilli, an NCDEX release here said.

Yesterday, 581 members had participated in trading and put through 97,340 trades. The volume of trading yesterday till 2330 hrs was around Rs 3,335 crore (one-way). Active trades were in guarseed, chana, jeera, pepper, silver and gold, the release added.

Rupee opens flat at 44.21/22 against USD

Mumbai, Feb 27 (UNI) The Rupee today closed steady at 44.21/22 per US dollar against 44.20/21, the previous day's close, on scattered demand of dollar by foreign banks. The Indian Rupee was steady against the dollar on Tuesday with gains from capital inflows blocked by scattered Central Bank intervention in a bid to protect exporters' competitiveness, traders said. Rupee opens lower at 44.23/25 vs USD

Mumbai, Feb 27 (UNI) The rupee today resumed a tad weaker at 44.23/25 against per US dollar as compared to the previous day's close of 44.20/22 on scattered dollar selling pressure by local operators. There was scattered demand for dollars from oil refiners to meet routine payments, traders said. The domestic unit was at 44.20/22 per dollar, barely changed from yesterday's close of 44.20/22, due to higher oil prices which weighed on the rupee. Oil is India's largest import and.....
