Hindu Munnani opposes reservation for Muslims

Puducherry, Feb 28 (UNI) The Puducherry unit of the Hindu Munnani today campaigned at 20 different centres in the town to press the government not to grant any separate reservation to the Muslim community.

Led by Munnani leader Sanal Kumar, the organisation insisted that no reservation on the basis of religion must be permitted and the Puducherry administration should withdraw the Bill moved in the last budget session of the territorial assembly envisaging separate reservation for Muslims.

They also highlighted the public on the Anti-Religious Conversion Act.

TADA court reserves order on Sanjay Dutt's plea

Mumbai, Mar 5 (UNI) The designated TADA court today reserved its decision on the application moved by filmstar Sanjay Dutt, seeking relief under the Probation of Offenders Act (POA), till further orders and said it may decide on the matter along with the quantum of sentence of the convicts in the 1993 serial blasts case. Police suspect international connection in rave party case

Pune, Mar 5 (UNI) The police suspect the involvement of Israeli and Russian drug peddlers in the rave party at a hotel in Khanapur near here from where 280 youths were arrested yesterday. Superintendent of Police Vishwas Nangre-Patil told reporters here today most of the youths hailed from affluent families. ''There is a connection with some Israeli and Russian drug peddlers.
