Haryana attracts Rs 50,000 cr investment: Hooda

Chandigarh, Feb (UNI) The Haryana government has attracted an investment of Rs 50,000 crore during the past two years, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said today.

As compared to this, a sum of Rs 40,000 crore was invested in the state from November 1966 to March 2005, he said while addressing mediapersons at Bhiwani.

The Chief Minister said a sum of Rs 15,000 crore had been invested in the state while projects costing Rs 35,000 crore were in the pipeline.

The planned budget for the state would be doubled during the coming financial year, he added.

Referring to the power situation in the state, Mr Hooda said efforts were on to generate sufficient power to meet the growing demand of power.

The Chief Minister said to ensure equal distribution of water in the state, BML Hansi-Butana Multipurpose Canal and Dadupur-Nalvi Canal were being constructed.

Hansi-Butana Canal would be ready by November this year while work on Dadupur-Nalvi Canal was in full swing.

Shimla, Feb 28 (UNI) All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW), on base 2001-100, for January this fiscal remained stationary at 127 points, Labour Bureau sources today said. India Cements merges associate co with itself

New Delhi, Feb 28 (UNI) India Cements Ltd today said it will merge Visaka Cement Industry Ltd (VCIL), an associate company with an annual capacity of 1.2 million tonnes, with itself. Post the merger, India Cements will be one of the top cement companies in India and will have a total capacity of around 12 million tonnes.
