Eight thousand students to appear for Plus-2 exam

Puducherry, Feb 28(UNI) Over eight-thousand students will appear for the plus two examination beggining here tomorrow.

According to official sources, as many as 4421 boys and 3930 girls belonging to 33 government schools and 29 private schools would appear for the examination in Puducherry region, while, 626 girls and 528 boys would appear for the examination in Karaikal region.

Twenty-three centres have been set up for the examination and 526 lecturers and 118 ministerial staffs were deployed for exam duty.UNI

Jawan commits suicide in udhampur RR-man burns wife, self in Doda

Jammu, Mar 4 (UNI) An army jawan today committed suicide near northern command headquarters at Udhampur while the Rashtriya Rifles Jawan, who allegedly burnt his wife to death and later set himself ablaze in Doda district, also died here this morning, official sources said. RR Jawan Ranjeet Singh, who was on leave, poured kerosene oil over his wife Neelima Devi in the kitchen of their house in Hadal village of Bhaderwah Tehsil friday night and set her ablaze, sources said......

Doodipora probe over, report being submitted to Government soon

Srinagar, Mar 4 (UNI) The inquiry officer, probing the killing of four boys by the Rashitriya Rifles (RR) in north Kashmir last year will submit his report to the Jammu and Kashmir government soon. Official sources said the officer had completed recording evidence of eyewitnesses and others in the case yesterday. Work hard to overcome flaws in judicial system: Balakrishnan

Chennai, Mar 4 (UNI) Adimitting that certain flaws exist in the judicial system, Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan today said each unit in the system must work hard to cleanse it.
