CRPF will have 210 battalions by 2010: IGP

Hyderabad, Feb 28 (UNI) Central Reserve Police Force IGP (Southern Sector) Mallanna Goud today said the force, the largest para-military force in the world, would have 210 battalions by 2010.

Presenting the Director General's Commendation disc and certificates for 2005-06 to the personnel, he said there was huge demand from various state governments for more CRPF personnel for maintenance of law and order.

Mr Goud said the force would soon fill up 2500 vacancies in the state.

The CEPF IGP said four CRPF battalions were deployed to contain naxalism in the state.

Mr Goud lauded Rapid Action Force (RAF) for its good work and urged the CRPF personnel to discharge their duties without fear to achieve results.

Altogether, 25 personnel, including Deputy Inspector General of Police Gautam Sawang of the CRPF, were presented with the Director General's commendation disc and certificates.

MP's labourers migrating to Rajasthan

Shajapur, MP, Mar 3 (UNI) Labourers from about 50 villages in this district are migrating to neighbouring Rajasthan in search of work. More than 1,000 labourers migrated to Jhalawar over the past ten days. ''Labourers migrate to Rajasthan every February to work on the wheat and gram crop besides road-laying in Jaipur, Kota and Bundi. Hindalco BoD to meet tomorrow for preferential share issue

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) The Board of country's largest aluminium producer Hindalco Industries Ltd will meet tomorrow to consider a preferential issue of equity shares or equity linked instruments.
