City college sings MOU

Coimbatore, Feb 28 (UNI) The city-based Nehru college of Aeronautics and Applied Sciences here signed an MoU with Hochschule Bremen, University of Applied Sciences, Bremen in Germany today.

The MoU was signed by the P K Das, Director of the Nehru College and German University Deputy vice chancellor Prof Dr Uwe.

Mr Das told newsmen that the MoU would focus on a four-year engineering degree course with the University along with Pilot training courses which include an engineering degree from German university and pilot training from Lufthansa Flight Training.

The German university has agreed for an exchange programme of students and faculties in the field of aviation studies.

Prof Uwe said his university has already signed an MoU with IIT, Chennai, Manipal and Mangalore universities.

He said the university also had a tie-up with 300 institutions spread over 56 countries.

Dr Reddy happy over Budget allocation to AP

Hyderabad, Feb 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today expressed happiness that the state was getting Rs 1380 crore more than the Rs 9170 crore sought in the devolution of funds in the Union Budget. Talking to newspersons, along with state Finance Minister K Rosaiah here, Dr Reddy said the Union budget indicated financial stability and a check in revenue and fiscal deficits. He said the increase of plan allocation by 18.5 per cent and non- plan.....
