Boat capsize toll mounts to five

Jamnagar, Feb 28 (UNI) With the recovery of two more bodies of fishermen from the Arabian sea off Jakhho last night, the toll in the February 15 mishap has risen to five.

Seven fishermen, who had left from Dwarka for fishing in the Arabian Sea on February 15, were reported missing after their boat capsized in the sea.

One body was recovered last Saturday by the Coast Guard during search operations while two other bodies were brought ashore by fellow fishermen on Monday.

Last night, two more bodies were found and the deceased have been identified as Firoz Kadam Thaim (22) and Shabbir Thaim (26). Two more persons are still missing.

Hike in DDT and extension of MAT upsets corporate India

Mumbai, Feb 28 (UNI) Corporate leaders in the financial hub of the country were left disappointed with the hike in Dividend Distribution Tax (DDT) and extension of Minimum Alternate Tax (MAT) in the Union Budget 2007-08 presented today. Tripura resents Rail Budget

Agartala, Feb 28 (UNI) Political leaders and economic experts here today expressed resentment towards the proposed Railway budget, alleging that this would keep the northeastern states, especially Tripura, grossly neglected. Transport Minister Manik De sharply reacted to the proposed railway budget. The state expected that the extension of rail track from Agartala to Sabroom will be included in this year`s budget, he said yesterday. The Budget is disappointing: Nitish

Patna, Feb 28 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today described the Union Budget as ''disappointing'' saying that the most sought ''special package'' has not been given to the state. Mr Kumar told newspersons here that the people of Bihar were frustrated with the budget of the UPA government as no new project had been earmarked for the state. He said instead of according special category to Bihar, it has been placed in the list of the states selected for Backward.....
