Mumbai, Feb 28 (UNI) The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) shop and establishment Inspector was trapped by ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau) sleuths today while accepting a bribe of Rs 1000 from a canteen owner for renewal of his 'Gumasta' license.
An ACB official said here that accused Hanumant Krishna Pawar, who was attached to Shop and Establishment department of the Corporation at N-ward in Ghatkopar, had allegedly demanded Rs 1000 from a canteen owner for renewal of the license.
The Complainant agreed to pay the bribe amount and simultaneously lodged a complaint against accused at ACB office, Worli.
The ACB sleuths, at around 1500 hours today, laid a trap in the N-ward office and nabbed Pawar red-handed.
He will be produced before the special court tomorrow, the sources added.
