Air Deccan migrates to Radixx Reservation System

Bangalore, Feb 28 (UNI) Air Deccan has migrated to Radixx Reservation System from its previous booking engine powered by Inter Globe Technologies.

The migration to the new reservation system took place yesterday, Air Deccan said in a statement here today.

Air Deccan was the first airline in India to introduce a 100 per cent web-enabled booking system and was the largest e-commerce website in Asia. The Air Deccan website on an average received about 250 million hits per month.

Airline Managing Director Capt G R Gopinath said, ''Air Deccan has always aimed at leveraging technology to offer efficient and innovative services to its passengers. We are a technology-driven company and believe that IT has opened up a world of opportunities for airlines, enabling them to provide convenience and control to travellers right through the booking stage to in-flight services.'' TNAU welcomes Budget allocation

Coimbatore, Feb 28 (UNI) Tami Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) Vice Chancellor Dr C Ramasamy today said the university welcomed special allocation of Rs 50 crore to the TNAU in the union budget. Talking to UNI here, he said the University had submitted a proposal for 20 projects, which include various infrastructural facilities, to the Union Finance Ministry about three months back. Delhi to renotify MCD wards, SDC submits fresh draft formula

New Delhi, Mar 5 (UNI) The State Delimitation Commission(SDC) today submitted a fresh draft formula before the Delhi High Court which would be the basis of reservation of constituencies for women and Scheduled caste(SC) candidates for the coming MCD election. Justice B D Ahmed directed the SDC to submit the fresh draft by the evening, on the basis of which the judgement would be pronounced tomorrow. SDC Counsel submitted that the commission had formulated a new method to reserve the constituencies......

Three from Rajasthan drown in Sharavati river

Shimoga, Karnataka, Feb 28 (UNI) Three youths hailing from Rajasthan drowned in the Sharavati river near the famous Jog Falls, about 140 km from here, today. Police said 13 carpenters from the desert State had come to Ramachandrapuram Mutt on the banks of the river for work. Three of them went to the backwaters of the Linganamakki dam to take a bath when they fell into the deep waters and drowned. The deceased were identified as Lakshman (18), Pawan Kumar (22).....
