Puducherry, Feb 28 (UNI) Inmates of the adidravidar students hostel here are on a fast since last night to press their demands, including provision of basic amenities at the hostel.
The students also abstained from their classes today.
Meanwhile, the adidravidar students of the hostel of Motilal Nehru Polytechnic today took out a procession to the office of the Adidravidar department and sought an appointment with the Director.
Since, it was turned down they locked the gate of the building and picketed it.
They were demanding the provision of scholarship, shifting the hostel from Kumaruguruppallam to another place and taking the students for excursion, among other things.
Hearing the news, the students, who are on fast also joined them in the picketing.
Officals intervened and assured that they would look into their demands, following which they dispersed.
