60 arrests after violence at MP village

Khargone, MP, Feb 28 (UNI) Sixty people have been arrested in connection with yesterday's violence in this district's Balsamud village where a dispute between two groups led to stone-pelting, torching of several shops and other damage to property -- a total loss of about Rs 15 lakh.

''A police force has been stationed in the area and will remain there for a few days,'' said Superintendent of Police Rakesh Gupta.

Deputy Inspector-General Vipin Maheshwari visited the area today.

Prohibitory orders are in force at Balsamud.

Thirty accused were presented today in the Kasrawad court and subsequently incarcerated in Mandleshwar Jail.

Two gangsters remanded to judicial custody

Mumbai, Mar 1 (UNI) A special court today remanded two suspected gangsters, owing allegiance to D K Rao gang, to judicial custody till March 14, for their alleged involvement in the murder of an undertrial robber near Sewri Court in June last year. Budget draws mixed reactions in MP
