2 killed, 35 injured as tractor-trolley overturns

Ballia, Feb 28 (UNI) At least two persons were killed and 35 others, including 22 women, seriously injured after an overloaded tractor-trolley, carrying them, overturned in this district of Uttar Pradesh today.

The ill-fated vehicle overturned under Fefna police station area, killing one passenger on the spot.

The injured were admitted to the district hospital, where another wounded succumbed to injuries. The condition of four was still stated to be critical.

The deceased were identified as Nand Kumar (30) and Sugreev (35), police said.

All the passengers were on way to a 'mundan' ceremony.

Court Martial recommends death sentence to sepoy for killing senior

Srinagar Mar 2 (UNI) In a rare decision, the Summary Court Martial (SCM) has recommended death sentence to a solider who killed a senior army officer in the Kashmir valley in October last year. A defence ministry spokesman said the SCM recommended S C Behera of 28 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) be sentenced to death for killing Lt Colonel Saket Saxena at Harwan on October 31. Ten arrested for arson in dalit colony

Karnal, Mar 2 (UNI) Ten people were arrested in connection with yesterday's attack on a dalit colony in Salwan village of the district. Superintendent of Police Sibas Kaviraj said today that police arrested ten people and booked as many as 80 in this connection. The miscreants had attacked the dalit colony, vandalised several houses and set fire to some of them.
