UP on BJP's traget now: Minister

Bhopal, Feb 27 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Power Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya today said that 'U' of Uttarakhand and 'P' of Punjab together made 'UP' and election results in these two states had provided great strength to party's prospects in upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

In his reaction to the BJP's victory in Uttarakhand and Punjab, Mr Vijaywargiya said the BJP had started working towards its target and now it was the turn of Uttar Pradesh.

He said party president Rajnath Singh, party's Punjab incharge Arun Jaitely and party's Uttarakhand incharge Ravishankar Prasad deserved to be congratulated.

He pointed out that faulty policies of the Congress-led-UPA Government at the Centre had led to spiralling prices causing trouble for common man.

Mr Vijaywargiya said though the assembly election results depended upon issues in the state but the present mandate was a reaction of public annoyed with price rise.

He claimed that electorate in Uttar Pradesh wanted a change of guard and the results would be in the BJP's favour.

Public rejected Congress: Vasundhara

Bhopal, Feb 27 (UNI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia today said assembly election results in Punjab and Uttarakhand had proved that the electorate had rejected the Congress. In a statement from Gwalior, Ms Raje said directionless policies of the Congress-led-UPA Government at the Centre had caused great inconvenience to public, which had been disillusioned with the Congress. Heroin worth Rs 75 lakh seized, 9 held

Rohtak, Feb 23 (UNI) Police have seized 750 gm heroin worth Rs 75 lakh in this district and arrested nine persons in this connection. The contraband was being smuggled in a car near Tilyar tourist Resort here on the National Highway No 10 late on Wednesday night, police said today. The nine arrested were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Those arrested were identified as Datar Singh, Sanjit and Manjit of Rajasthan and Rajiv, Sajan, Madan.....

35 teachers issued notice over poor results

Badwani, MP, Feb 27 (UNI) In the wake of poor results in pre-board examination of class XII students in tribal welfare department's schools in Badwani district of Madhya Pradesh, 35 teachers had been issued notice. The notice was served by Badwani Additional Commissioner (Tribal Welfare) Sudhir Kumar Jain and asked them why their two increments should not be stopped in view of the poor results.
