TRS stages dharna before AP TRANSCO

Hyderabad, Feb 27 (UNI) Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) MLAs and activists today staged dharna outside AP TRANSCO office demanding the government fill up vacancies in the Electricity Department with unemployed youth from the region.

A delegation of TRS MLAs led by Former Minister Harish Rao wanted to submit a memorandum to AP TRANSCO Managing Director Rechal Chatterjee demanding to fill up the vacancies for 200 sub engineer posts with locals from Telangana.

When they learnt the official was not in the office, the TRS MLAs and activists staged a dharna outside for a while.

However, they withdrew the protest after submitting the memorandum to AP TRANSCO Joint MD Harish Kumar.

'Ashtadhatu' idols stolen

Pratapgarh, Feb 26 (UNI) Unidentified burglars decamped with ancient 'ashtadhatu' idols of Lord Ram, Sita and Laksman here late last night, police today said. The incident took place in Kilhanapur village under Hathgavan police station area, where the idols worth several lakhs of rupees were found missing. Morena, MP, Feb 26 (UNI) The Delhi-Bhopal Shatabdi Express was today halted and stoned at Hetampur Railway Station in Morena district by angry passengers, who demanded that the Gwalior-Agra Shuttle Express be re-started, railway sources said. The services of the Gwalior-Agra Shuttle Express had been terminated a few days back. This had been causing great inconvenience to the daily passengers, who had staged demonstration in this regard earlier also. The passengers stopped the train at Hetampur Railway Station. Four workers buried under gravel

Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, Feb 27 (UNI) Four workers died and two others were injured when a truck in which they were travelling, skidded and over turned at Nallapadu village, near here today. The truck was carrying gravel from the nearby quarries. Six workers including two women were sitting on the gravel load, when the truck capsized. They were buried under the heap of gravel. Four died on the spot, while the two injured women were admitted to the Government General.....
