'Rail budget has neglected Vidarbha'

Akola, Feb 27 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party MP Sanjay Mhatre has expressed unhappiness over the Rail Budget saying it has neglected the west Vidarbha region.

There has been no provision for the conversion of the Khandwa-Akola-Ratlam meter gauge line into broad guage, he said.

He alleged that the rail budget appears to be politically motivated.

Vidarbha Yatri Sangh president Dr Alimchandani too has expressed unhappiness over the budget while lamenting that Vidarbha has not received any special relief.

Accused gets 3 months RI for outraging modesty of married woman

Akola, Mar 1 (UNI) An ex-serviceman was today sentenced to three months rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 500 for outraging modesty of a married woman. Local court remands 3 PMC officials to police custody

Pune, Mar 1 (UNI) A local court today remanded to police custody all the three Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) officials, arrested in connection with the Transfer of Development Right (TDR), till March three.
