Pyramid Saimira targets home video market with Moser Baer

New Delhi, Feb 27 (UNI) Pyramid Saimira Theatre Ltd today inked an agreement with Moser Baer, under which the latter will release the company's new films in home video format within a short period of their theatre release.

''The tie-up with Moser Baer will prove that the home video and theatrical release are complementary and the success of the film will amplify home viewing. The company will also benefit in expanding its reach and brand across home viewing segment, which will lead to much greater exploitation of content,'' Pyramid Saimira said.

The company plans to release around 100 films in south India which will be released by Moser Baer in home video format across the country.

To begin with, Moser Baer will release the company's new Tamil film 'Mozhi' in home videos soon.

The profits arriving out of these titles, including revenue generated from advertisements in VCD/DVD, will be shared equally by both the companies.

The home video titles done by Moser Baer will be available at all the theatres run by the company, which will enable it to reach out to more consumers through this retail chain.

Indian market for home video, dominated by piracy, is estimated to be over Rs 5,000 crore.
