NUHS convocation Feb 28

Vijayawada, Feb 27 (UNI) The annual convocation of NTR University of Health Sciences (NUHS) will be held at Tummalapallivari Kshetrayya Kalakshetram here tomorrow.

Speaking to UNI here, an university official said Indian Council of Medical Research Director General N K Ganguly will be the chief guest and deliver the convocation address while NUHS Vice-Chancellor R Sambasiva Rao would preside.

Chancellor and Andhra Pradesh Governor Rameshwar Rhakur will not be attending the convocation due to pre-occupation, he said.

The university will confer the degree of 'Doctor of Science' (honoris causa) on Dr P S Shankar, Former Director, Medicity Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad and recipient of Dr B C Roy Award.

A total of 31 gold medals, 18 silver medals and 23 cash prizes will be given to students for excellence in academics, the official added.

Bomb blasts on railway track at Malda (to go with CA 8)

Kolkata, Feb 27 (UNI) Train services on the Jamalpur-Kiul section of Eastern Railway at Malda were disrupted from midnight 0035 to 0910 hrs today following twin blasts between Kajra and Uren stations and Uren and Dhanauri stations. Truck with clothes worth Rs 10 lakh recovered

Koderma, Feb 27 (UNI) Police recovered a truck loaded with clothes worth Rs ten lakh from the Jhumri Tillaya police station area in Jharkhand's Koderma district today. Police sources said the truck was lying unclaimed near the bus stand in Jhumri Tillaya for last two days. Sources said the truck was abducted by some miscreants from Govindpur area in Dhanbad who fled after leaving it near the bus stand in the district. The vehicle was going to Kolkata from Gorakhpur. Air Deccan suspends Delhi-Dehra dun flights from March 1

Bangalore, Feb 27 (UNI) Low cost airline Air Deccan today announced supension of its Delhi-Dehra dun flights from March due to the closure of the Dehra dun airport.
