Missing cleaner of robbed truck found

Palnpur, Feb 27 (UNI) A cleaner who went missing last Sunday after he was robbed of his truck by unidentified men, was found near Bhabhar in Banaskantha district today.

The truck was carrying 15 tonnes of copper worth Rs 21 lakh.

According to district police chief Vipul Aggarwal, the cleaner Jitendra Kumar Jay Naryan, native of Kaktal district of Sonipat in Haryana, was thrown out from the vehicle near Bhabhar.

In his complaint, the cleaner said the truck was taken away after shifting him and the driver to another truck. They were tied up and their mouth stuffed.

''We were driven in the dark and on wee hours of today I found myself on the road near Bhabhar,'' the cleaner stated.

He, however, could not give information about the whereabouts of the driver.

The complaint has been forwarded to Lunawada police in Panchmahals district.

R R Patil and Jayant Patil welcome budget

Mumbai, Feb 28 (UNI) Maharashtra deputy chief minister R R Patil and Finance minister Jayant Patil today welcomed the Union Budget for its emphasis on the Agro sector. Patil said the provision to benefit 50 lakh farmers and commonmans' insurance scheme are the other highlights of the budget.
