Laabh Jewellers annual sales reaches Rs 6,000 crore

Visakhapatnam, Feb 27 (UNI) Laabh Jewellers CEO Vipin Sharma today said "the company, world's largest manufacturer of gold jewellery has exceeded annual sales of Rs 6,000 crore". An enterprise of Rajesh Exports Ltd (REL), it set up the world's largest jewellery manufacturing facility at Bangalore in 1990.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Vipin said the Laabh Jewellers had announced national launch of retail stores, would extend its presence in the tier-II cities.

Mr Sharma said "in spite of India being the largest consumer of gold and biggest gold jewellery market in the world, the Indian gold jewellery market is still dictated by the unorganised sector". As a result, the consumer had always been at the receiving end in terms of purity of gold, consistency in designs and fair pricing, he added.

Hutch achieves 40 lac customers in Guj

Rupee opens low at 44.33/35 against USD

Mumbai, Feb 28 (UNI) The rupee today resumed lower at 44.33/35 against the US dollar due to weak trend in most Asian currencies and feared as sell off in emerging market stocks and bonds would prompt foreign investors to reverse local investments. Later, the partially convertible rupee was at 44.35/36 a dollar, down about 0.3 per cent from Tuesday's close of 44.21/22.
