First result goes to Congress kitty in Manipur

Imphal, Feb 27 (UNI) The Congress was the first party to open its account in Manipur with its president Gaikhangam reelected from 54 Nungba AC constituency.

Mr Gaikhangam defeated his nearest rival Gangmumei Kamei (Independent) by a margin of 5000 votes. While Mr Gaikhangam got 11,552 votes, his nearest rival Gangmumei bagged 5893.

Mr Kamei was supported by the United Naga Council.

As far as the trend was concerned, the Congress was leading in three seats closely followed by the RJD and Manipur People's Party with two each.

The NCP was leading in one and Independents in two seats.

AP Cabinet approves land for auto major

Hyderabad, Mar 9 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet today approved allocation of 500 acres of land to MLR Motors that has tied-up with General Motors associated company in China Wooling and Auto major Fiat, for setting up a four-wheeler manufacturing facility in the state.
