EC puts restriction on entry to nomination rooms

Lucknow, Feb 27 (UNI) The Election Commission has put restriction on the entry of people inside the room for filing nomination papers during the assembly poll.

Now only five people, including the candidate and the proposers would be allowed inside the nomination rooms.

According to state chief electoral officer (CEO) Anuj Kumar Bishnoi, procession of candidate would be stopped 100 meters from the nomination room and only three vehicles would be allowed to move further.

In another decision, the EC has decided to issue Identity Cards with Photo to all the polling personnel involved in the assembly poll. The ID cards would be issued by the respective district returning officers.

The EC has taken strong exception to the use of loudspeakers after 2200 hrs and directed the district authorities to comply with the orders strictly.
