CITU takes out procession demonstrating their demand

Puducherry, Feb 27: CITU volunteers here today took out aprocession from Indira Gandhi Square to Labour Commissioner's officeand held a demonstration to press their demands.

They were demanding among other things representation for CITU inconstruction workers welfare board, Rs ten crore allocation to theboard and enhancement of minimum wages here.

Puducherry, Oct 25: About 100 volunteers of the AIADMK were arrested when they put up a road blockade on the airport road, here today. The agitation was led by former Legislator and Party Joint-Secretary A M Krishnamurty to protest against the failure of the government to construct tenements at Kottuppalayam, near here as announced in the assembly and alleged corrouption in the distribution of free house sites. Islamabad, Mar 17: Pakistani authorities have lifted restrictions on the country's suspended top judge, one of his lawyers said today, a day after protesters and police clashed on the streets of the capital and in other cities.The suspension of Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhary on March 9 has outraged lawyers and united disparate opposition parties against President Pervez Musharraf, who is expected to seek another term late this year.Lawyers were meeting in the eastern city of Lahore to discuss the case today.....

Georgetown (Malaysia), Jan.20 (ANI): Hindus in the Malaysian province of Penang are unhappy with the Penang Hindu Endowment Board's interference in organizing of the silver chariot procession on Thaipusam eve.The Star quoted Hindu Action Network chairman G.
