Christian Council regrets 'police inaction'

Mumbai, Feb 27 (UNI) The All India Christian Council today enpressed sorrow that the miscreants responsible for the attack on five Bible College students at Panvel were yet to be arrested.

Ten days had elapsed since the incident but the miscreants were still at large, general secretary of the Council, Dr Abraham Mathai, said.

Dr Mathai said the attack was a case of ''religious terrorism'' and the perpetrators should be booked under stringent laws.

He alleged that the miscreants had not been arrested so far because the local goons ''had the tacit approval of the police''.

Human skull recovered from abandoned place in Gujarat

Rajkot, Feb 27 (UNI) The police have recovered a human skull from an abandoned place on Jamnagar road here. Police today said they found the skull last evening after a dog dragged it from a nearby thick wood on Jamnagar road behind Railway colony. Police has sent the skull to Forensic Scientific Laboratory (FSL) for a detailed investigation to determine the gender of the skull and to ascertain whether it was a case of murder or not, police added. Nine teachers suspended for ''helping'' examinees

Koderma, Feb 27 (UNI) Nine teachers were suspended today allegedly for helping students to cheat in the ongoing matriculation examination, in Jharkhand's Koderma district. Regional deputy director of education, Nagendra Thakur said a departmental inquiry would be initiated against them. The first sitting examination of the centre was also cancelled.
