Body of a missing teenager found in a pond

Surat, Feb 27 (UNI) The body of a 1teenager, who was missing from Kanakpur village in Sachin, was found from a pond in Lajpore village yesterday.

According to Sachin police, the 13-year-old Bhittu, son of Jayapal Rampal Yadav, a textile unit worker residing in Krishnakunj society in Kanakpur village near Sachin, was missing since February 23.

Jayapal Yadav, in his complaint filed with police, had stated that Bhittu was last seen playing cricket with his friends at a ground near his house.

Yesterday the body was found floating on the pond, police said.

The post-mortem conducted yesterday revealed that Bhittu's death was due to drowning, police said.

Goa govt to introduce computer aided teaching/learning in schools

Panaji, Feb 27 (UNI) Education Minister Luizinho Faleiro today said the state government was planning to introduce ''computer-aided interactive teaching and learning'' in all schools upto 12th standard. Mr Faleiro told reporters that Ghaziabad-based Jaiprakash Associates software company was preparing software for the project in all subjects. The system, however, was only optional and the department was advised to write to all the schools to elicit their willingness. Each school had to spend Rs 1.2 lakh for securing the software.....

BMC license inspector trapped

Mumbai, Feb 28 (UNI) The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) shop and establishment Inspector was trapped by ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau) sleuths today while accepting a bribe of Rs 1000 from a canteen owner for renewal of his 'Gumasta' license. An ACB official said here that accused Hanumant Krishna Pawar, who was attached to Shop and Establishment department of the Corporation at N-ward in Ghatkopar, had allegedly demanded Rs 1000 from a canteen owner for renewal of the license. VED welcomes emphasis on agriculture, irrigation in budget

Nagpur, Feb 28 (UNI) Vidarbha Economic Development Council (VED), a city-based voluntary organisation working for the development of Vidarbha region in Maharashtra, has welcomed the emphasis on agriculture, water, irrigation and seed development in the Union Budget.
