AGB Shipyard supplies AHTS vessel to UAE's Lamnalco Group

New Delhi, Feb 27 (UNI) ABG Shipyard Ltd today said it has delivered a new anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel to the United Arab Emirates-based Lamnalco Group.

The vessel, Lamnalco Merlin, is the first vessel to be delivered to Lamnalco in this financial year.

The 53 meter long, 90 Tonne Bollard Pull Azimuth Drive Propulsion AHTS is able to carry out anchor handling, towing rescue, offshore supply, transport pipes, fresh water, diesel oil, stores, materials and equipment, men and materials.

The vessel will supply and support the Floating Production Offloading Storage (FPSO) vessels, offshore oil and gas field on a twenty four (24) hour per day basis.

The company has so far delivered six vessels, including the present one, to Lamnalco Group. Besides, it is building another five vessels for the group.

Monica case hearing posted for Feb 26

Bhopal, Feb 24 (UNI) A local court today posted the hearing of the fake passport case involving extradited underworld don Abu Salem and his girlfriend Monica Bedi for February 26. The hearing was scheduled for today but could not take place and now the ruling on a defence application urging conversion of witnesses into accused will be heard on February 26. Decline in employment arrested, says Economic Survey

New Delhi, Feb 27 (UNI) The declining trend in employment has been reversed, according to the Economic Survey 2006-07. The employment has increased from an annual 2.1 per cent in the 10 years ending 1993-94 to 1.6 per cent in the five years ending 1999-2000 to 2.5 per cent in the five years ending 2004-05. Calling this trend an encouraging development, the survey nevertheless adds that there is need for faster employment growth for not only absorbing the addition.....

Man bites off brother-in-law's thumb

Chennai, Feb 24 (UNI) In a shocking incident, a man bit off the left thumb of his brother-in-law after a quarrel at Selaiyur here yesterday. Police said Anbu (25), acted in a fit of rage after his sister's husband, Ramadas, pressed her to go back home with him after a stay at her parent's house. Ramadas was admitted to the Stanley Medical College Hospital, which forwarded a formal complaint to Selaiyur Police for action. The incident occurred it all began.....
