35 teachers issued notice over poor results

Badwani, MP, Feb 27 (UNI) In the wake of poor results in pre-board examination of class XII students in tribal welfare department's schools in Badwani district of Madhya Pradesh, 35 teachers had been issued notice.

The notice was served by Badwani Additional Commissioner (Tribal Welfare) Sudhir Kumar Jain and asked them why their two increments should not be stopped in view of the poor results.

Meanwhile, Narayan Choubey, an assistant teacher in a middle school in Kakaria village in Thikri tahsil, was suspended with immediate effect for being negligent in teaching.

Earlier, 18 principals and 50 teachers had been issued notices on February 24 in view of poor results of pre-board examinations in class X and XII.

Action plan in MP to rein in dengue, chikungunya

Bhopal, Feb 27 (UNI) In order to prevent dengue and chikungunya from spreading in Madhya Pradesh, a decision has been taken to set up control room in the state capital besides rapid emergency centres in various districts. Health Commissioner Rajesh Rajora said 60,000 chikungunya and 212 dengue case were registered in the state last year. Necessary steps were being taken to prevent these diseases from spreading. A control room was being set up at the Jaiprakash Hospital in the state capital.....

HC cancels Khadi Gramodyog Board recruitment process

Lucknow, Feb 23 (UNI) In a significant ruling, the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court today cancelled the 2005 recruitment process of Khadi Gramodyog Board to fill class III and IV vacancies. A Single Judge Bench of Justice Devi Prasad Singh also directed the Board to initiate the recruitment process afresh. Besides, the Board was fined Rs 50,000 and ordered to take disciplinary action against the guilty persons. The court passed the order on a petition filed by Suraj Singh.....

Police Constable arrested on bribery charge

Bangalore, Feb 23 (UNI) A Police Constable attached to Ranebennur Rural Police station (DSP Squad) was arrested on the charge of demanding and accepting a bribe for release of a person taken into custody illegally. The Lok Ayukta sleuths laid a trap on February 20 based on a complaint from one B Krishnamurhty that his friend Manjunath was illegally taken into custody by Constable G B Kale on February 17 and that Kale was demanding Rs 50,000 from Manjunath's wife Jayamma.....
