Zee TV challenges order

Mumbai, Feb 26 (UNI) Zee Television, Marathi, has challenged a lower court's order against it in a cheating case filed by a lawyer-cum-social activist.

The social activist had filed a case against the director and others of Zee Television, alleging the largest share of income from SMS, received from viewers while voting for their favourite candidate in the ''Marathi show, ''Sa Re Ga Ma Pa'' went to Zee Television while the service providers received only a nominal amount.

A local Andheri court had issued orders in response to the petition.

Zee TV has moved a revision application in the session court.

The application came up before additional sessions judge M S Keny who has admitted the matter and adjourned the hearing till next month.

Motorola demands minutes of meeting in BSNL contract case

New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) The multi-national telecom company Motorola today urged the Delhi High Court to direct the BSNL to provide the minutes of the meeting which decided to award the contract of the Rs 20,000 crore GSM expansion project to Ericsson and Nokia last year. SC seeks explanation from CBI on Quattrocchi's extradition

New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) The Supreme Court today directed the CBI to explain within a week the steps taken by it for the extradition of Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi, the main suspect in the Rs 64 crore Bofors gun scandal, from Argentina to India. Banks cannot employ goondas for taking possession: SC

New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) Describing the recovery agents employed by the Multinational Banks (MNBs) as thugs, hooligans and gangsters, the Supreme Court today held that this country is governed by the ''rule of law'' and the banks cannot employ goondas to take possession of property or vehicles by force.
