We will not spare those involved in Samjhauta blasts: Lalu

New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) Asserting that those responsible for the Samjhauta Express blasts would not be spared, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today said a number of steps are being taken to improve safety and security of trains including putting up new CCTVs and sniffer dogs.

''Ek-ek ko pakar kar peetenge. Hum chhorne wale nahin (We will catch each and every mischief maker and thrash them. We are not going to spare anyone),'' Mr Prasad told UNI when asked what the ministry was doing so that incidents like Samjhauta blasts donot take place.

He said more CCTVs would be place on the station and the number of sniffer dogs would be increased.

''However, we have a huge railway network. How many sniffer dogs can be possibly employed so that they sniff each and every person.

Moreover, these dogs can just sniff explosives and they could not catch liquid like the one used in the (Samjhauta) blasts,'' he said.

Mr Prasad admitted that the vast railway networ has not adequate Railway Police Force (RPF) to protect them and said a number of steps are being taken to improve security in trains.

Regarding the incidents of defence personnel travelling in trains thrashing some civilians, he said the railway ministry has informed the defence ministry that it was ready to open more reservation counters for personnel planning to travel by trains.
