Syndicate Bank introduces two new Term Deposit Schemes

Bangalore, Feb 26 (UNI) Public Sector Syndicate Bank today announced the introduction of two new Term Deposit Schemes - 'Synd 400 Plus' and 'Synd 500 Plus'.

A sum of Rs 25,000 would be the single minimum deposit accepted for both the schemes. While the term of 'Synd 400 Plus' would be 400 days to 499 days, it would be 500 days to less than two years for 'Synd 500 Plus', according to a bank release here.

'Synd 400 Plus' attracted nine per cent interest for deposits less than Rs 15 lakhs and 9.20 per cent for deposits of Rs 15 lakhs and above. 'Synd 500 Plus' attracted 9.25 per cent interest for deposits less than Rs 15 lakhs and 9.40 per cent for deposits of Rs 15 lakhs and above, the release said.

Three govt employees arrested for accepting bribe

Patna, Feb 21 (UNI) Sleuths of state vigilance bureau today arrested three government employees at different places for accepting illegal gratification. Additional director general of state vigilance bureau Neelmani said that one Shakeel Ahmad of Bihar state Madarsa Board was arrested while he was receiving Rs 7000 from a teacher Jamaluddin to extend favour to him in salary arrear payment. Andaman Police arrest two poachers recovers live deer

Port Blair, Feb 21 (UNI) Andaman and Nicobar Police today nabbed two persons who entered the restricted Jarawa Reserved Forest for poaching and recovered a live deer from them. Police said a patrolling party last night saw one dinghy coming from the reserved forest areas of Jarawa and intercepted it. Kidnapped children remain untraced

Imphal, Feb 21 (UNI) Two school children, kidnapped on December 14, remained untraced so far. The All India Christian Council, Manipur Branch and All Manipur Christian Organization expressed their concern over the abduction. ''Kidnapping of such tender children just for the sake of quenching one's greed is really unfortunate,'' the organisations said.
