SP walkout over Bofors issue during Rail Budget LS presentation

New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) The Samjawadi Party today walked out of the Lok Sabha to press its demand for the extradition to India of fugitive Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi, accused in the Bofors pay off case, even as Railway Minister Lalu Prasad presented the Railway Budget.

Members of the BJP, Shiv Sena and BJD were seen in the well raising slogans- Quattrocchi chor hai, Wapis lao.. Dunia bhar mein shor hai.. chor hai Quattrocchi chor hai.. sharam karo.. sharm karo, but the slogans did not dampen the spirt of Mr Prasad who in his inimitable style chided the NDA members intermittently.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi chose to remain silent.

Mr Prasad at times came out in defence of Ms Gandhi, retorting to the Opposition that "Aap ka bap chor hai." The treasury benches thumped the desks whenever Mr Prasad made some important announcement. The Left parties also joined the treasury benches in this exercise.
