Chandigarh, Feb 25 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said the people of the state would benefit to the tune of over Rs 4,000 crore by way of various welfare schemes announced by him in the Sirsa rally yesterday.
Mr Hooda had announced several schemes for farmers, labourers, dalits and the poor people in the rally to mark the completion of two years of his government.
Talking to reporters here, he said the decision to waive off interest on loans of Cooperative Banks would benefit eight lakh families to the tune of Rs 553 crore, providing much needed relief to the members belonging to Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, poor craftsmen, labourers, farmers and petty shopkeepers.
Similarly, the decision to waive off interest on loans from Haryana Agricultural Development Bank would benefit 1.40 lakh families to the tune of Rs 217 crore.
The rebate of two per cent in rate of interest for one year to those loanees of the Cooperative Banks who had been repaying their loans regularly would benefit the people to the tune of Rs 830 crore.
Mr Hooda also claimed that Haryana had become the state with the highest minimum wages by raising them from Rs 2484 to Rs 3510 per month, benefitting over lakh persons in the State.
The decision regarding the minimum wages would also be applicable to one lakh teachers working in non-government schools.
