Policemen held for raping minor

Palanpur, Feb 26 (UNI) a Policeman, attached to the city police station, was today arrested on charges of raping a minor girl at his residence in the police headquarters here.

Constable Madhu Bhai Kantilal had lured a 16-year-old girl, from a bus stop yesterday morning, to his residence and allegedly raped her.

According to city police Chief Vipul Aggarwal, the girl was later locked inside the house by the constable as he went out on his official duty.

When the neigbhours heared the girl crying, the door was broken open.

The girl had come here from Kiyare village near Abu Road in Rajasthan.

Akola, Feb 26 (UNI) Two farmers committed suicide in the last 24 hours in Akola district, despite the special packages for farmers implemented by government agencies. According to police, a 30-year-old farmer Santosh Mahadeo Dandle of Paras village, near here, committed suicide by hanging himself at his house yesterday. He is survived by his wife, a son and parents, police said. His dead body has been sent for post-mortem to the Akola hospital. Mr Someshwar Gangaram Sarkate (55), resident of Wani.....

Orissa HC reserves anticipatory bail of DGP Mohanty

Cuttack, Feb 26 (UNI) The Orissa High Court today reserved the anticipatory bail plea of Director General of Police (Home Guard and Fire Services) B B Mohanty and ordered that interim protection granted to him from being arrested by the Rajasthan police will continue till the pronouncement of the judgment. Motorola demands minutes of meeting in BSNL contract case
