Petron Engg bags orders from Reliance, Vedanta

New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) Petron Engineering Construction Ltd, engaged in construction and project engineering, has bagged orders worth over Rs 48 crore from Reliance Petroleum, Vedanta Alumina and Heurtey Petrochem Equipment.

The order from Vedanta Alumina Ltd is for manufacturing, erection and commissioning of rodding shop at its new aluminium smelter at Jharsuguda, Orissa. The contract is worth Rs 28.73 crore.

Heurtey Petrochem Equipment Pvt Ltd has placed a Rs 11.55 crore order for supply of piping fuel skids for various heaters in aromatic unit and clean fuel unit.

The Rs 7.9-crore-contract from Reliance Petroleum Ltd involves pre-fabrication of radiant coils of clean fuel unit heaters.

Two govt employees arrested for accepting bribe

Patna, Feb 20 (UNI) Sleuths of state vigilance bureau today arrested a clerk and a block agriculture officer for accepting bribe in Patna and Nalanda respectively. Additional director general of state vigilance bureau Neelmani said the clerk, Deenesh Kumar, of district education superintendent office of Patna was arrested when he was taking Rs 10,000 from one Ajay Kumar against appointment on compassionate ground. In another case, block agriculture officer Deenesh Prasad Mandal was caught while accepting Rs 1000 from a farmer.....

Orissa vigilance detects Rs.15 crore tax evasion

Bhubaneswar, Feb 20 (UNI) The Orissa vigilance department has detected tax evasion to the tune of Rs.15.25 crore during raids in various business premises in the state in January. Vigilance sources said the sleuths conducted raids to different business houses in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Sambalpur, and Balasore divisions and detected tax evasion of sales tax to the tune of Rs.15.25 crore. Primary teachers take to streets

New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) The All India Primary Teachers' Federation (ALPTF) today launched its two-day agitation to protest against the ''unjust'' provisions of the Model Right to Education Bill and press for their other demands. The demonstrators held a rally, which commenced at the Ram Lila Maidan, in which teachers from all across the country participated. The teachers said School Based Management Committee and School Based Cadre are the two provisions of the Bill which need to be amended......
