Next government in Punjab to decide on police reforms

Chandigarh, Feb 26 (UNI) The decision to implement the directives of the Supreme Court on Police Reforms will be taken up by the next Cabinet after the election process is completed in the state and a new government is formed.

This decision was taken in the last meeting of the present Cabinet held here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.

Lucknow, Feb 26 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh assembly speaker Mata Prasad Pandey today let off Minister of State for Minority Welfare in the Mulayam Singh Yadav government, Haji Yakub Qureshi with a reprimand for announcing a bounty on the head of Danish cartoonist, who had lampooned Prophet Mohammed. 16 injured in minibus accident

Jammu, Feb 26 (UNI) At least 16 people were injured in a minibus accident near Doda here today, police sources said. A minibus, going to Bhagwah from Doda skidded off the road while negotiating a turn at Golbagh, 10 Kms from Doda and fell into a deep gorge, the sources said. All the passengers were state government employees and were going to their respective offices, they said. Srinagar, Feb 26 (UNI) Two persons were killed and three others wounded in different accidents in the Kashmir valley today, a police spokesman said. He said a speeding tipper hit pedestrian Abdul Rashid Ganie at Chooru, Sopore, about 50 km from here in Baramulla district today.
