Need more trains and new lines in AP : YSR

Hyderabad, Feb 26 (UNI) Terming the railway budget for 2007-08 presented by Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav as 'pro-poor', Andhra Pradesh Chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy today said more trains and new lines were needed particularly in Visakhapatnam zone as many more SEZs were coming up in the state.

According to an official release here, Dr Reddy said the state deserved more from the budget as some of the demands made by the State Government were still to be considered.

Expressing satisfaction over the introduction of a Garib rath between Secunderabad and Yeshwantpur and for agreeing to take up the new Cuddapah--Bangalore line, he urged the Railway Minister to have re-look into the proposals he had already made in his recent letter and sanction the second phase of MMTS.

CM inaugurates Bharat Nirman Public Information campaign

Puducherry, Feb 26 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today inaugurated the 13th edition of the Bharat Nirman Public Information campaign here today. Case filed against 30 soldiers for rioting

Karwar, Karnataka, Feb 22 (UNI) The Karwar Rural police have registered a case of riot against 30 soldiers of the Gurkha Regiment in connection with their attack on Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, railway staff and the police here yesterday. Police sources said four First Information Reports have been registered from the Station Master, the RPF, Circle Police Inspector and District Armed Reserve (DAR) police. Rail Budget dissapointing for K'taka people: Kumaraswamy

Bangalore, Feb 26 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today said the Rail Budget presented today may have emerged as pro-people in general, but it was disappointing for the people of Karnataka. Projects to connect new destinations had not been up to expectations.
