KLPL launches Volvo service to Kolkata

Visakhapatnam, Feb 26 (UNI) Kaushik Logistics Private Limited (KLPL) today introduced a 45-seater air-conditioned super luxury Volvo bus service between Visakhapatnam and Kolkata via Bhubaneswar.

Talking to newspersons here, KLPL Operations Chief P K Joardar said the service was launched to meet the growing demand for comfortable long distance travel.

The bus would leave from here at 1500 hrs daily and reach Kolkata the following morning at 0600 hrs with halts at Berhampur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Balasore and Karagpur. The fare would be Rs 1,050, he added.

Mr Joardar said the company would introduce similar bus service from Silguri to Guwahati on March five and another from Kolkata to Varanasi in the third week of March.

At present two volvo buses were in operation with a two-and-fro courier service, he added.

Govt accord administrative sanction for drinking water

Hyderabad, Feb 26 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Governmnet today accorded administrative sanction for providing drinking water facilities to 25,589 schools at an estimated cost of Rs.76.76 crore. The Government also sanctioned for providing drinking water facilities to 811 Social Welfare Hostels in 23 districts in the State at an estimated cost of Rs 4.05 crore, an official release said here. The Government would spend Rs 3.99 crore to provide drinking water facilities to 86 Social Welfare Residential Institutions in 22.....

Bhopal, Feb 21 (UNI) A local court today recorded a witness' statement in a fake passports case wherein underworld don Abu Salem and his starlet-girlfriend Monica Bedi stand accused. Chief Judicial Magistrate Raveendra Singh accepted defence Counsel P C Bedi's application urging conversion of witnesses into accused under Section 319 of the Criminal Procedure Code as the witnesses were part of the conspiracy. Businessman shot dead

Dehradun, Feb 21 (UNI) A businessman was shot dead in Hardwar district today. DIG R S Meena told UNI the murder has nothing to do with election. Personal rivalry could be the reason behind the murder, he said. According to the sources, Bhushan was drinking tea in front of his shop when two miscreants came from behind and shot at him. He ran for safety but stumbled. The miscreants fired for the second time killing him and fled. Police.....
