HC directs Bihar to file reply on Shahabuddin's petition

Patna, Feb 26 (UNI) Patna High Court today directed the Bihar government to file reply, within four weeks, on a petition of incarcerated RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin.

The petition sought amalgation of FIRs filed against him on the basis of evidences gathered during the raid conducted at Shahabuddin's residence in Pratappur village in Siwan district on April 24, 2005.

Justice Shyam Kishore passed the order on a criminal writ petition filed in the court by Mohammad Shahabuddin.

Earlier, during the raid at the residence of the RJD MP, police had recovered foreign made fire-arms, stolen vehicles, bullet-proof jackets and country-made firearms. Five separate FIRs were filed against him in these connections.

15 kg charas seized in Bihar

Bettiah, Feb 26 (UNI) Police today seized 15 kg of charas from two smugglers at Shikarpur village in West Champaran district. Police said acting on a tip-off, a raid was conducted at a hide-out leading to the recovery of the contraband charas. During interrogation, the smugglers said they were carrying out their activities in Bihar through Nepal for the past few months. UNI.....

Mubarak Mandi Palace complex renovation to cost Rs 44 cr
