Few people in Dainik Bhaskar tarnishing its image, says CM

Shimla, Feb 26 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today asserted that a few people employed with Dainik Bhaskar were tarnishing its image by publishing false and misleading stories against the state government.

''A few people employed with the newspaper, one of the largest Hindi dailies, are tarnishing its image by writing false and misleading stories about the state government the time and again,'' he said, while intervening on the motion of thanks on Governor's address after former chief minister P K Dhumal initiated the motion.

Mr Singh said this after leader of the Opposition referred to a newspaper report and said he had written a letter to the Himachal Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA) for promoting a particular employee.

Asserting that he had never written a letter to the Authority to promote any one, he said, the Chief Minister never writes a DO but only issues directions.

Jammu, Feb 26 (UNI) A Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) of the Army lost his foot in a mine blast while Rashtriya Rifles (RR) troops recovered a huge quantity of explosives from a militant hideout in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, a defence spokesman today said.
