Delhi-Bhopal Shatabdi Express stoned

Morena, MP, Feb 26 (UNI) The Delhi-Bhopal Shatabdi Express was today halted and stoned at Hetampur Railway Station in Morena district by angry passengers, who demanded that the Gwalior-Agra Shuttle Express be re-started, railway sources said.

The services of the Gwalior-Agra Shuttle Express had been terminated a few days back. This had been causing great inconvenience to the daily passengers, who had staged demonstration in this regard earlier also.

The passengers stopped the train at Hetampur Railway Station.

Police and RPF personnel reached the spot and sent the train to its destination. On this, angry villagers pelted stones on the train.

However, no injuries were reported during the incident.

Important ruling on constitutional validity

Allahabad, Feb 26 (UNI) In an important ruling, Allahabad High Court today ruled that if a writ petition can be decided on some other points, then the constitutional validity of a particular provision can be left undecided by the court. A Division Bench, comprising Justices R P Mishra and Shishir Kumar, gave this ruling on a writ filed by Ram Dayal. The petitioner had filed a writ praying for quashing the order of December 26, 2005, which was issued in pursuance.....

Bailable warrant against former MPSEB officials

Jabalpur, Feb 26 (UNI) A bailable warrant has been issued against former Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board (MPSEB) Chairman Ved Prakash Chawala and three former MPSEB members by the High Court for causing loss of crores of rupees to the MPSEB while working as public servants. Admitting an appeal filed by the government challenging a lower court order acquitting Mr Chawla and former MPSEB officials Brahmankar, R G Sahne and Amreek Singh in a case registered under the Prevention of Corruption.....

ACB arrests Govt doctor for bribery

Hyderabad, Feb 26 (UNI) Sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today trapped G Vijaya Mohan, Medical officer of a Primary Health Centre at Virava of Pithapuram mandal in East Godavari ditrict when he accepted Rs 2000 as bribe from the complainant. The ACB officials recovered the tainted amount from Dr Mohan and arrested him. He would be produced before the Special Judge for ACB Vishakhapatnam, an official release said. UNI.....
