Call money ends steady at 6.15-6.25 pc

Mumbai, Feb 26 (UNI) Interbank call money closed today steady at 6.15-6.25 per cent, compared to 6.20-6.25 on the previous day's close, traders said.

The call rate eased due to adequate liquidity in the market.

For the current fiscal year, the government budgeted borrowing of USD 34.4 billion.

Robust tax receipts should help the government cut its borrowing.

In the April-December period tax revenues were up by 38 per cent, compared with the same period in the previous year.

Lower inflation also aided sentiment. Inflation was at 6.63 per cent for the 12 months to 10 February, lower than the previous week's 6.73 per cent, which was the highest in more than two years, dealers added.
