BHEL bags Rs 144 cr World Bank-aided contract in Maharashtra

New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has bagged a Rs 144 crore World Bank-funded substation contract in Maharashtra.

BHEL will set up a 400 KV turnkey substation at Wardha and extend the 400 kV substations at Seoni, Akola and Aurangabad, associated with the Sipat super thermal power project stage-II supplementary transmission system.

Placed on BHEL by Power Grid Corporation of India (PowerGrid), the project will be commissioned in 19 months, a BHEL spokesman said here today.

BHEL will design, engineer, manufacture, test, supply, erect and commission auto transformers, shunt reactors, circuit breakers, 400 KV and 220 KV instrument transformers, control and relay panels, string insulators and other associated auxiliaries, in addition to completing civil works.

Gujarat Ambuja sells 11% in ACIL to Holcim for Rs 526.5cr

New Delhi, Feb 27 (UNI) Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd has sold 11 per cent of its stake in Ambuja Cement India Pvt Ltd (ACIL) to Swiss cement major Holcim for Rs 526.5 crore. The company said it has exercised its put option for the 11 per cent stake in ACIL and sold 9,53,75,000 shares. Suzlon bags windfarm order from Reliance arm

New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) Wind energy major Suzlon Energy Ltd today said it has secured its maiden contract from the wind energy arm of Reliance Energy Ltd. The order is for setting up of a windfarm of 150 MW wind turbine capacity in Sangli district, Maharashtra. The company did not divulge the value of the contract. Aban gets $123 mln drilling contract

New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) Aban Offshore Ltd today said its subsidiary, Aban Abraham Pte Ltd, has entered into a drilling contract with affiliates of Addax Petroleum Corporation of Canada and China's Sinopec for deployment of the drillship -- Aban Abraham offshore West Africa. The revenue expected from the above contract is 123 million dollars, which could increase to 246 million dollars if all the optional wells are declared, a statement said.
