Bangladesh Naval Ship calls at Kochi

Kochi, Feb 26 (UNI) Bangladesh Naval Ship (BNS) Umar Farooq today arrived here on a two-day goodwill visit.

According to an official release, the ship commanded by Captain M Mozammel Haque was received by Naval Officer-in-Charge Commodore A T Lucose.

Captain Haque called on Commander-in-Chief VAdm J S Bedi and the Chief of Staff RAdm Rajender Singh of the Southern Naval Command.

The officers of the two navies had interaction during receptions held at the Command Mess and onboard the Bangladesh Navy Ship.

During the visit various professional training schools of the Southern Naval Command would visit the ship, the release added.

The ship is scheduled to depart Kochi on February 28 to participate in a multi-national exercise.

Naval chopper crashes into sea, crew rescued

Mumbai, Feb 28 (UNI) A Sea King helicopter of the Indian Navy crashed into the sea this evening but all the crew members have been rescued. The helicopter was on a routine training sortie in sea, close to the naval station Kunjali II, according to defence sources. The crew members have been rescued and the copter retrieved from the sea, the defence sources said. UNI.....
