Advocates protest removal of hutments near the court

Basirhat, Feb 26 (UNI) The members of the Basirhat Bar Council today staged demonstrations at the sub-divisional court protesting against the removal of unauthorized hutments from the court complex.

The members prevented the sub-divisional officer Apala Sett and several other employees to enter the main administrative building.

Sources said the agitating bar members also surrounded the SDO's car and pelted stones on her.

Ms Sett had alleged that the unruly advocates had physically assaulted her and filed a complain with Barashat District Judge Bandana Roy, who had rushed here to discuss with representatives of the Bar Association and pacify the situation.

The advocates were protesting the removal of unauthorized hutments and stalls near the court area and administrative complex yesterday as per the order of the SDO.

Man sentenced to life for murdering wife

Faridabad, Mar 16 (UNI) A local court today awarded life imprisonment to a man charged with murdering his wife, whom he suspected of infidelity.
